Yashio Kita Park Skatepark is a dedicated outdoor skateboarding facility in the waterfront Yashio district of Shinagawa-ku, accessible from Shinagawa Seaside Station. The park features a well-rounded selection of street obstacles including boxes, curved ledges, arcs, banks, and down rails, catering to a range from beginners to intermediate and advanced skaters. A monthly skateboarding school is held on the fourth Saturday of each month, making it a good destination for those learning the sport.
History
The skatepark was developed by Shinagawa ward as part of the Yashio waterfront area's public recreational infrastructure. The Yashio district, built on reclaimed land along Tokyo Bay, is home to a number of public sports facilities. The skatepark at Yashio Kita Park has served the local community in this relatively residential corner of Shinagawa-ku, providing a structured, paid facility with management and safety requirements.
